Mark a blank by its thread colour and tube number 🔢 when you tie it, and link it to its cane batch, shaper tip 💡, staple model and tie length. The reed then carries that lineage through five stages: tied, blocked-in, rough scraped, finished and playable. One tap 👆 on the stage stamp moves it forward at the bench, so the pencil marks on the thread can go. Each reed has a detail view built around a lifespan timeline 🕒. Stage notches and play ▶️-session ⏱️ ticks share 🤝 one line, and scrubbing along it brings up the backlit tip photo from each stage, side by side with the earlier ones. Shoot the tip with the camera or pick a photo you already have. Log 📝 playing minutes every time ⏱️ you use the reed, and tag the session, for example as a rehearsal. When it is done ✅, retire it with a reason ❓ from the catalogue: cracked, closed, went flat, lost response, sharp or broke at tip. Days in use and total minutes are worked out for you.
