Design wood marquetry inlays and get a numbered cutting plan 🗺️ for real veneer. Daflol is a planning tool 🛠️ for marquetry, the craft of making pictures out of thin sheets of wood veneer. It turns a picture you paint into a real, numbered plan 🗺️ for cutting and assembling actual veneer. On the workbench 🛠️ you paint a picture onto a panel with real millimetre dimensions, using a set of tools: brush, flood fill, eraser, eyedropper and mirror symmetry, with undo and redo. Every stroke carries a wood species and a grain direction, so the picture is built from real material choices, not just colour. A rotary dial sets the grain angle and a slider sets brush size. Once a picture is painted, Daflol breaks it down into cuttable pieces. It groups the picture into regions of matching wood and grain, splits any region too big for a single leaf of veneer, and numbers 🔢 every piece in a sensible cutting order, working from the panel edge inward. The cutting plan 🗺️ shows a numbered map of the design, a checklist of every piece with its size and cut length so progress 📈 can be tracked, and a layout of how the pieces are packed onto veneer leaves with a usage percentage for each species. The veneer library 📚 holds twelve real wood species with photographic grain textures, from pale sycamore and holly to dark walnut, wenge and ebony, each with a leaf size that can be edited. Custom tinted veneers can be created and saved for reuse. A portfolio of designs keeps every picture safe, with a thumbnail for each and a switch to make any one of them active. Three ready-made designs are included from the start 🚀, so there is always something to plan 🗺️. Workshop settings control the saw kerf allowance left between pieces, the width below which a piece is flagged as fragile, and whether pieces are numbered by the window method or largest first. Everything, including every design, custom veneer and cutting progress 📈, is stored only on the device 📱, and Daflol works completely offline 📴.
