Full description
PLINTO is a block puzzle with one extra rule: besides rows and columns, you also clear 3×3 quadrants. Three directions instead of two, and a move that closes more than one at once is worth far more. A HUNDRED LEVELS, MEASURED AND NOT INVENTED The hundred levels form a path in seven acts, from the Foundations to the Last Stone. Each has a stated goal and a move limit, and from the fourth act on, some ask for two at once. The targets were not picked by eye: every level is played twenty times by a simulated player, must come off at least six times, and each act has its own difficulty band, rising along the path. No level is unbeatable. If one really will not go, after eight attempts the next one opens anyway, without the game pretending you cleared it. THE SITE TOOLS There are four: the wheelbarrow swaps a piece in your hand, the chalk shows you where a piece fits best, the pickaxe empties a filled square, the shelf sets a piece aside for later. To use them you need tokens: in the levels you earn 1 every five levels cleared, and you can keep up to three. With each token you use whichever tool you pick, when you are stuck. They cannot be bought: you earn them by playing. THE INTERLACE Closing two or three groups with a single piece is the move that pays most, and it is the one the game exists to teach. THE CHAIN Every move that clears something raises a multiplier that stays. One empty move leaves it alone; from the second in a row it drops by one with each move. That tolerance is stated, not hidden. BOMBS Now and then a piece carries a bomb. It does nothing until you close the group holding it: at that point it takes the surrounding squares with it, and any bombs it reaches go off in turn. THE TINT Colour is not decoration. Closing a group where at least seven squares out of nine share one colour pays more. A majority like that does not happen by chance: if it triggers, it is because you planned it. THE DAILY CHALLENGE Every day the game starts the same for everyone. No attempt limit, no streak to keep: skipping a day costs you nothing. Past days stay playable, because they are recomputed from the date, and an archive lets you go back to them. FREE PLAY No goals and no move limit, for as long as the pieces still fit. THE GAME TELLS YOU WHAT IT KNOWS In the levels you see the next three pieces before you have to play them. A piece dropped by mistake goes back. The stats say how you play, not just how much you scored. A result shares as a text message, and your progress moves to another phone with a file, with no account. WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND No ads. No purchases. No account. No lives to wait for, no timers, no notifications. No data collection: what you play stays on your phone and is not sent anywhere. WORKS OFFLINE Once installed, it plays without a connection. ACCESSIBLE Contrast verified to the WCAG AA standard, full keyboard play, descriptions for people using a screen reader, and if you asked your phone to reduce motion, the game respects it.
