Wabima

Wabima is a minimalist Android launcher designed to reduce compulsive phone use. It replaces the home screen with a plain text list of your apps and a clock, and adds a short delay before opening the applications you choose. FIVE MODULES, EACH OPTIONAL Pause before opening — A countdown of 5 to 60 seconds before an app opens, set per application or per group. It applies to launches from notifications and the recents screen, and is based on real elapsed time. Daily time limits — From 5 minutes to 2 hours per application, or a single shared budget across a group of applications. When the limit is reached, you can quit, extend by 5 or 15 minutes, or lift it for the day. Scheduled blocking — Makes an application unavailable during defined hours, set to the minute, including ranges crossing midnight. The block applies even if the application is already open. Duration reminders — On opening, the application asks how long you intend to stay and notifies you when that time has elapsed. Focus sessions — A timer of 15, 25 or 50 minutes during which the selected applications remain closed. Phone, camera, settings and emergency calls are never blocked. Applications can also be grouped to share a single set of rules, hidden from the drawer entirely, or a shortcut can switch the screen to greyscale. INTERFACE Applications are listed as text rather than icons. The drawer searches only what is installed on the device — no web results, no suggestions, no advertising. The appearance is configurable: 7 themes in light and dark variants, custom themes, 10 clock styles, 32 clock fonts, 18 interface fonts with support for imported .ttf files, and a choice of generated or photographic wallpapers. Available in 11 languages. DATA HANDLING Wabima has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no subscription. Your application list, screen time and settings remain on the device. The only network connection the application makes is when you request a high-definition wallpaper, which is optional. The accessibility service reads the package name of the application currently in the foreground, in order to apply your rules. It does not read screen content or input. The permission is requested explicitly and can be withdrawn at any time. SCOPE Wabima assists self-discipline; it does not enforce it. Pauses can be cancelled, limits extended and sessions stopped at any point. The intent is to introduce a moment of deliberation before an automatic gesture. Single purchase of €8.99.
