RupeeSlate turns the transaction alerts your bank already sends you into a clean spending ledger — with no typing, no sign-up, and no server in the middle. Everything happens on your phone. RupeeSlate declares no internet permission at all, so your ledger cannot be uploaded, shared or sold, even by accident. ONE TAP TO YOUR LEDGER Tap Parse SMS once. RupeeSlate scans your message history for bank, card, UPI and wallet alerts and builds your ledger from them: the amount, whether money went out or came in, the merchant, a masked account hint, the payment channel and the date. Running it again is safe, because duplicate alerts for the same transaction are detected and skipped. SEE WHERE THE MONEY WENT • This month's spending and income, compared with last month • Category breakdown and your top merchants • Insights by month, so you can look back at any earlier month • Search and filter by spent, received, account, category or date NOTHING IS GUESSED When an alert cannot be read confidently, it goes to Needs review instead of becoming a wrong entry. You confirm it or ignore it. Every automatic entry keeps its original message, so you can always check why an amount was recorded the way it was. ADD WHAT SMS CANNOT SEE • Add cash and other transactions by hand • Edit any amount, date, category, note or direction • Attach up to 6 receipt photos per transaction, compressed and kept in private storage • Optionally tag a transaction with an area-level location label WHAT IT NEVER DOES • No internet permission, so no uploads: not your transactions, not your message text • No account, no phone number, no email, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting • Never asks for bank credentials, card numbers, UPI PIN or net-banking logins • Cannot send, forward, reply to or delete messages, and does not watch messages as they arrive • Never requests precise location and never stores coordinates • OTPs, verification codes, marketing offers, delivery updates and personal messages are ignored, not stored WHY SMS ACCESS IS NEEDED Reading your transaction alerts is the only way the app can find your transactions: it has no connection to your bank and no server of its own. Only messages from senders on a bundled list of Indian banks, payment apps and wallets are examined, and everything else is skipped. SMS access is requested only when you tap Parse SMS. Decline it and the app still works in full — you can add every transaction yourself. YOUR DATA, YOUR CALL • What is saved from your messages is encrypted with a key held by the Android Keystore, inside this app's private storage • Android cloud backup is switched off for RupeeSlate on purpose • Export everything as CSV whenever you want, from Settings • Clear all data erases transactions, receipt photos, review texts, learned rules and the encryption keys for good • Uninstalling removes the app and all of its data at once GOOD TO KNOW Because nothing is uploaded, there is no cloud restore.
