Full description
Leap Reader lets you check your TFI Leap Card balance and view recent bus, Luas and DART usage by holding your physical card against the back of your phone. It gives you a quick way to see the information stored on your Leap Card, with no account, login or registration required. What it shows • Your current Leap Card balance • Recent bus, Luas and DART activity • Recent top-ups and zero-fare journeys where available • Estimated TFI 90 information where the card data supports it Simple to use Open Leap Reader and hold your Leap Card against the back of your phone. The app reads the card directly and displays the available information. Read-only Leap Reader cannot top up your card, change your balance, add or remove tickets, or alter anything stored on the card. Private by design No account. No sign-in. No advertising, analytics or tracking. Your balance and journey history are not sent to us and are not saved on your phone. They are held only while the app is open. To unlock and read the card, Leap Reader sends the minimum technical and cryptographic information required to TFI's card service over an encrypted connection. Nothing else leaves your phone. What you need • A compatible phone • A physical TFI Leap Card • An internet connection while the card is being read Some older or newer card types may not read successfully. If the app cannot read a card, it will tell you rather than showing incomplete or misleading information. Good to know The TFI 90 countdown is an estimate based on your most recent eligible tap-on. Operator and service details are provisional where the card does not provide enough information to identify them confidently. Leap Reader shows information stored on the card itself. It is not a replacement for official TFI services, Leap Card account management or top-up services. Independent app. Leap Reader is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Transport for Ireland (TFI) or the National Transport Authority (NTA). Operator names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify journeys shown on your card.
