FairTaxi Driver (Test)

FairTaxi Driver is the driver app for FairTaxi, an Irish taxi dispatch service built for licensed SPSV drivers. This is the open test build. It runs against our test servers with demo data, so treat everything you see in it as a preview and not as live work. WHAT YOU CAN TRY IN THE TEST BUILD Dispatch Go online and receive dispatch offers on a live map. Every offer shows the fare estimate, distance and time to pickup, trip distance and time, and the rider rating before you decide. Accept or decline within the offer timer. Jobs Browse available jobs and self assign the ones you want. Claim and confirm scheduled bookings ahead of time, mark yourself on the way, and open your full ride history. Pickup zones Draw the areas you actually want work in on the map and name them, for example airport runs or a north side patch. Set a heading home destination with a range so late offers point the right way. Earnings See today, this week, this month and year to date totals with ride counts, your lifetime rides and average fare, your best routes and best hours, and a tax summary you can use for your return. Payouts run through Stripe. Trip flow Run the whole job in the app: arrive, wait milestones, start, complete, enter the metered fare, take payment by card or mark it as cash. Talking to riders Message the rider in the app or call them without either side seeing the other's number. Your account Upload your PSV licence, vehicle SPSV licence, insurance and motor tax for review. Add more than one vehicle and switch the active one. Set your spoken languages, notification preferences and your preferred navigation app, and hand each job off to Google Maps or Waze. Support Open a support ticket from inside the app and get a reply in the same thread. Languages English, Irish, Polish, Ukrainian, Romanian, Lithuanian, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese. WHAT THIS TEST BUILD IS NOT It is a preview against our development environment. Accounts, rides, fares, ratings and earnings figures in it are demo data. Nothing you do in it is a real fare and nothing settles real money to you. Test data is periodically wiped. Some screens are still being finished and copy may change between builds. WHO IT IS FOR Licensed Irish SPSV drivers who want an early look, and anyone testing on our behalf. You do not need to be an approved FairTaxi driver to install and look around, but dispatch offers only reach drivers whose documents have been reviewed and approved. WHY WE ARE BUILDING IT FairTaxi charges drivers a flat plan for dispatch access instead of taking a percentage of every fare. The fare is the meter, and it is yours. PERMISSIONS WE ASK FOR AND WHY Location: to place you on the dispatch map, to match you to nearby jobs, and to show riders where their car is while a job is running. Location is used while the app is in use or while a ride is active in the foreground service. The app never asks for background location. Camera: to photograph your licence and vehicle documents and the meter at the end of a job. Microphone: only for in app calls with a rider, requested the first time you place or take one.
