Full description
Chronicon (Χρονικόν) is an illustrated history app that lets you move through the past one year at a time — a record kept in the order things happened. It gathers 108 chronicles across 12 regions — roughly 1,850 curated events from the Bronze Age to the twentieth century — and presents each as an interactive, year-by-year timeline you scrub through with your thumb. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Scrub the timeline — drag or tap across the years of any period. Events sit on a true chronological scale, and long empty stretches are neatly collapsed so a whole millennium stays readable. • Rich event cards — each with a category (political, military, religious, cultural), a title, a description, an expandable “Read more”, and a credited historical image. • Explore by region — every civilisation is a shelf of chronicle cards, each themed in its own palette: Byzantine gold, imperial crimson, Aegean azure and more. • “Meanwhile” — for any year you land on, see what was happening elsewhere in the world at the same moment, and jump straight there. • Search everything — full-text search across every event, with region and category filters, linking to the exact period and year. • “This Month in History” — a rotating look at events from the current month across the centuries. • Saved — keep the moments you want to return to. BILINGUAL BY DESIGN Chronicon is fully bilingual, English and Greek, written in parallel rather than machine-translated. Your language choice is remembered on your device. MADE WITH CARE Dates and events follow the consensus you’d find in a good encyclopaedia or historical survey; images come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited on every card. It’s a personal project, built for the love of history — and corrections are always welcome. Free to read, no account required. Supported by ads.
