MaHIS

MaHIS is the Ministry of Health Malawi's digital health application for authorised healthcare workers in supported health facilities. It helps clinical and administrative teams register patients, maintain longitudinal health records, document care and coordinate services through one application. Key capabilities include: - Patient registration, identification and longitudinal records - Clinical notes, vital signs, diagnoses, investigations, medications, appointments, referrals and outcomes - Configurable workflows for outpatient, inpatient, emergency, antenatal, labour and delivery, postnatal, neonatal, HIV, tuberculosis, noncommunicable disease, immunisation, laboratory and other supported services - Laboratory, pharmacy, stock, bed-management and reporting workflows where enabled - Barcode and QR-code scanning for supported identification and clinical tasks - Printing to supported network, Bluetooth and USB label or document printers - Offline work and synchronisation with authorised MaHIS systems when connectivity is available - Role-based access for authorised facility staff Features and available clinical programmes depend on the health facility's configuration, connected services and the user's assigned permissions. Access requires credentials issued by the responsible Ministry of Health organisation or participating facility. MaHIS supports healthcare delivery and official record management. It does not replace professional clinical judgement and is not intended for public self-diagnosis, emergency advice or direct-to-consumer medical care. MaHIS is operated for the Digital Health Division, Ministry of Health Malawi.
