Water Resources Investigation Department(WRID), Government of Tripura awarded a project to Excel Geomatics Private Limited for the DEVELOPMENT OF FLOOD WARNING SYSTEM FOR AGARTALA AND KAILASHAHAR, TRIPURA. This is a National Hydrology Project (NHP) funded by The World Bank to Develop and Operationalize flood forecasting system for Agartala and Kailashahar in Tripura, which will include development of FEWS Dashboard, RTDAS installation, hydrological and meteorological forecast model based systems that automatically disseminate warnings to relevant stakeholders through Mobile Applications & SMS services. The mobile application will allow capture of geotagged pictures of flood inundation, water levels, information for verifications of model results & upgrades i,e crowdsourcing. The readings from telemetering rain gauges and radar based telemetering automatic water level recorders can directly be viewed on mobile app and readings from these equipments can also be sent to WRID through the mobile app. The FEWS dashboard provides a comprehensive view of water level, rainfall, and other hydrological data, allowing users to visualize and analyze data from various sources. The dashboard is divided into several sections, each displaying specific data and providing tools for analysis. Through this project, the Tripura State Government aims to reduce the loss of property and life due to floods in and around the city of Agartala & Kailashahar and adjacent areas by developing an early warning system which helps in evacuation of people from flood zones and reduce the fatalities.
