Full description
EASST-TOM is the official mobile application of the European Astronomical Society of Small Telescopes (EASST.eu), connecting observers with a global network of professional, educational and citizen-operated telescopes contributing to frontline astronomical research. Whether you operate a smart telescope such as Seestar, a robotic observatory or a traditional CCD-equipped telescope, EASST-TOM enables you to participate in coordinated observing campaigns and contribute scientifically valuable observations. Using the app, observers can: • Browse high-priority astronomical targets selected by scientists. • Access detailed target information, visibility and observing guidance. • Submit observations and images directly from the field with their phone. • Follow transient and variable astronomical phenomena, including supernovae, novae, microlensing events, asteroids, comets, quasars and other time-domain objects. A unique feature of EASST-TOM is the automatic scientific processing of submitted observations. Data from smart telescopes and other supported observing systems are calibrated, standardised and quality-controlled using dedicated scientific pipelines, producing research-ready photometric measurements. The processed observations are automatically transferred to scientists and integrated into the BHTOM.space (Black Hole Target and Observation Manager) platform, where they become immediately available for professional follow-up, analysis and international observing campaigns. By combining a global community of observers with automated scientific data processing, EASSTTOM transforms amateur and professional observations into valuable contributions to modern time-domain astronomy. The online version of the system offers even more features: https://eassttom.easst.eu Clear Skies!
