Aparté: Private AI Journal

Aparté is a private journal with an AI that never leaves your phone. It writes a recap of your week, transcribes your voice and understands your mood as you write: everything happens on the device, even in airplane mode. No account. No cloud. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases: you buy the app once, AI included, and every update is included too. THE AI, ON YOUR PHONE • A recap of your week, written for you: a short narrative written by the AI built into your phone, from your own words. It never judges, never advises, never diagnoses. If it doesn't ring true, regenerate it or delete it. • Your voice, transcribed right here: record a memo and the text is added to your entry. Your device's AI does it, or Whisper on older phones (its model downloads once). • Your mood, understood as you write: a glow follows your words and suggests a mood, analysed on the phone. You always have the final say. • Turn off the network: writing, reading, recaps and mood keep working, and so does voice once its model is installed. Your words are sent nowhere, not for the AI, not for transcription, not for statistics. The recap narrative is in beta and off by default. It uses Android's AI model (Gemini Nano), found on recent phones: Pixels from the Pixel 9 onwards and many recent high-end models. Aparté tells you as soon as you turn it on whether yours is supported; if not, everything else works. If you're going through something hard, the app quietly points to listening resources in your country. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, nobody, including us, can recover your journal. That's the price of a journal nobody else can read, and we'd rather tell you upfront.
