TurfScore is a cricket scoring app for the games people actually play — six overs a side on a turf, early in the morning, with whoever turned up. SCORE THE GAME FROM THE GROUND Keep score ball by ball on your phone while standing at the boundary. Tap the runs, mark a wide or a no-ball, record how a batter got out and who took the catch. The running total, the over, the striker and the bowler's figures all update as you go. It is built to be used one-handed, between deliveries, in sunlight. NO SIGNAL, NO PROBLEM Every ball is saved on the phone first. If the ground has no coverage, you can score the whole match offline and it syncs when you get back to a signal. Nothing is lost. LET EVERYONE ELSE WATCH Send the match link to the group and anyone can follow the score live without installing anything or making an account. Hand the scoring over to a teammate mid-innings if you want to go and bat. SET THE GAME UP THE WAY YOU PLAY IT Choose the overs, the balls per over and the limit on any one bowler. Decide whether a wide or a no-ball carries a penalty run, whether byes can be run, whether the last batter can carry on alone, and whether someone from the batting side is keeping. Put a player on both teams when the numbers do not work out — the app counts both his innings properly. A FULL SCORECARD, NOT JUST A NUMBER Every match ends with the scorecard you would expect: both innings, batting and bowling figures, extras broken down, partnerships, the fall of wickets and a wagon wheel showing where the runs went. THE ARGUMENT SETTLED Your group's whole record builds up as you play. Batting, bowling and fielding tables with averages, strike rates and economy. A page for each player. Head to head, so you can see every ball one player has bowled to another. And a record book of the highest totals, the biggest innings, the best bowling and the biggest partnerships your lot have managed.
