Full description
Safari Lens is a quiet wildlife photography simulator. You sit in a canvas hide at a savanna waterhole, watch animals come and go, and try to bring home a portfolio worth keeping. Nothing is hunted here. The only thing that fires is a shutter. A LIVING WATERHOLE Twelve species share the waterhole - elephant, giraffe, buffalo, rhino, zebra, lion, cheetah, impala, warthog, ostrich, hyena and wildebeest. Each one is an agent with its own behaviour: it walks in from the bush, drinks, grazes, sometimes breaks into a signature pose - the elephant trumpets, the giraffe splays its legs to reach the water, the lion yawns, the zebra rears. Every animal also carries an alertness value. Push it too far and the animal freezes, lifts its head, and then leaves the scene for good. NOISE IS THE REAL ENEMY Swinging the viewfinder too fast, snapping the zoom to the end of its travel and every single shutter release all add to the scene noise meter. Noise decays over time, but while it is high it feeds the alertness of every animal nearby, and closer animals hear more. Patient, still photography is measurably better than spraying frames, and you can watch it happen on the gauges. PULL YOUR OWN FOCUS There is no autofocus button that simply wins the shot. A focus ring sets the distance in metres, it travels at a finite speed, and a live sharpness readout shows how close each setting would be to your current subject. Miss the peak and the frame is soft and nearly worthless. EVERY FRAME IS SCORED FROM THE SCENE Nothing is a random roll. When you release the shutter the score is computed from what is actually in front of the lens: how rare the species is, which pose it is holding, how well it is framed against the centre of the viewfinder, how much of the frame it fills, how accurate your focus was, and the quality of the light at that moment. Get two animals inside the frame and a composition bonus is added on top. Fire at empty water and you simply burn a frame. LIGHT THAT MOVES A Field Session runs from first light to dusk in real time. The colour of the whole scene shifts as the sun climbs and drops, and the score multiplier moves with it - dawn gold and the late golden hour are worth far more than harsh noon. THREE WAYS TO SHOOT - Field Session: twelve frames, dawn to dusk, hit the portfolio quota before the light goes or the film runs out. - Golden Hour: ninety seconds of perfect light and unlimited film, but noise builds twice as fast. - Rare Sighting: one target species, one single frame, no second chance. Each mode keeps its own personal best. BUILD THE RIG Field Credits earned from sessions and new species buy eight upgrades across two branches. Optics widen your zoom range, widen the depth of field that still reads as sharp, and speed up the focus ring. Hide gear raises how far you can swing before you make noise, lowers the noise the hide leaks, quietens the shutter and adds film to your Field Session. Every number on a gear card is a value the simulation actually reads. COLLECT AND PROGRESS The Portfolio is a twelve-slot album that keeps your best frame, best pose and shot count for every species, with the unfound ones held back as silhouettes. The Expedition Log tracks five ranks from Visitor to Chief Warden and six achievements with real conditions, including keeping the noise meter down for twenty frames and letting an animal reach a signature pose without spooking it. NO VIOLENCE, NO ADS, NO ACCOUNT No hunting, no weapons, no blood. No network permission, no advertising, no sign-in. Everything is stored on your device.
