Select a frequency in WTFreq Airband and listen with a compatible RTL-SDR receiver through the free OpenSDR Radio Host app. Go from discovering a local frequency to tuning it from the same list. Explore frequencies associated with nearby airports, airspaces and navaids using worldwide OpenAIP data. See distance and direction, read frequency names and comments, and highlight related objects on the map. You can explore the database and map with just your phone. These are database listings, not live detection of transmitting stations or a guarantee of reception. Coverage, completeness and freshness vary by country and the bundled dataset. RTL-SDR LISTENING Connect a compatible RTL-SDR receiver and use the separate, free OpenSDR Radio Host app. Tap a frequency in WTFreq to tune the receiver, listen to airband and see the places associated with that frequency. Use everyday listening controls in WTFreq, then open the Host for advanced receiver settings, live spectrum, waterfall and diagnostics. Live audio requires a compatible RTL-SDR USB dongle, antenna, USB-host-capable Android device, OTG connection and OpenSDR Radio Host. Hardware is not included. This is local radio reception, not an internet radio service. Online map tiles require internet unless already cached. CURRENT AND FUTURE FEATURES Current features do not require a paid unlock. No ads or app account are required. Optional paid scanning and audio-recording components are planned for future WTFreq versions; they are not available in this release.
