rowculus

owCulus helps rowing crews stay aware of one another on the water. Designed for rowers and coxes, it puts a clear live map at the center of every outing and makes it easy to see your boat alongside other participating crews. During an active rowing session, RowCulus uses your device location to display your movement and securely share your current position with other RowCulus users. Nearby boats appear on the map with their name and boat class when that information is shared, while visual freshness indicators help you recognize outdated position data. Features include: - Live map showing your boat and nearby participating crews - Automatic position updates during an enabled rowing session - North-up, heading-up, and dedicated rower map orientations - Quick recentering after exploring another part of the map - Multiple profiles for different boats and boat classes - Clear connection and session status - Optional background location updates during active sessions - English, German, French, Italian, and Romansh interfaces Privacy remains under your control. You decide whether to enable location sharing, and optional diagnostics can be managed separately. Anonymous mode hides your boat's display details from position updates while retaining the location exchange needed for shared awareness. RowCulus is a situational-awareness aid. It does not replace an attentive lookout, sound judgment, local navigation rules, or other required safety equipment. Always remain responsible for the safe operation of your boat.
