Full description
Configure RDM lighting fixtures from your phone, through any Art-Net node. RDM Tool speaks Art-Net and RDM (ANSI E1.20) to the node on your network and to the fixtures behind it, so you can patch a rig without carrying a laptop to the truss. WHAT IT DOES • Discovery — finds the Art-Net nodes on the network and the RDM fixtures behind them. The scan shows what it is doing while it runs, and the log stays available afterwards: which addresses were asked, which nodes answered, which universes they report, and where each fixture was found. So when nothing turns up you are told why instead of left guessing. • Patching — change a fixture's DMX start address, rename it, and switch its DMX personality. Every change is read back afterwards, so a fixture that acknowledges a command but ignores it is not reported as success. • Identify — make a fixture flash so you can tell which one you are addressing. • DMX test — a slider per channel driving live DMX, either for a discovered fixture at its patched address, with channel names taken from the fixture where it provides them, or for any Art-Net universe and start address you pick. Closing the panel blacks the universe out, so a test never leaves a fixture lit. • Parameter inspection — everything a fixture says it supports, its sensors, its sub-devices and the current value of each parameter. Any parameter can be opened as a raw hex block and written back, which is the only workable way to change something a manufacturer does not document. • Help and pinouts built in — a page explaining what the app does and the failures that actually happen on site, and from it a connector reference: 5-pin and 3-pin XLR and RJ45, each with a numbered connector face and its signal table, male and female both drawn, since they are mirror images and that is what gets adapters wired backwards. Neither page needs a network, which is the point of having them in the app. WHAT YOU NEED An Art-Net node with RDM enabled, and a phone on the same network as it. Art-Net conventionally uses the 2.x.x.x range, so your phone needs an address in the same subnet. Such a network usually has no internet access, and Android will offer to leave it — choose to stay connected, or nothing will be found. The app has no accounts, no adverts and no tracking, and sends nothing anywhere except to the equipment on your own network.
