Date a book is a small experiment by Otherland, Berlin's bookshop for science fiction, fantasy and horror: meet people through the books that are core to you — not through photos, age or swiping. YOUR SHELF IS YOUR PROFILE Pick the five books that define you, plus what you just finished, what you are reading now and what is next. Eight slots, each with a short note on why. The five core books can only be changed once a month: they are who you are, not a feed. TALK ABOUT THE BOOK, NOT ABOUT YOURSELF Every book has its own room. It is open to you as long as the book is on your shelf, and everyone in it has read or is reading the same thing. The conversation starts with the book. MATCH BY OVERLAP When you and someone else share two or more books, you can message each other directly. Until then, you meet in the book rooms. WHAT ELSE • Browse who reads what you read and which books are on the most shelves • Share "I just finished…" pages with friends • Invite friends with your personal link or QR code • Optional e-mail digests when someone new shelves one of your books This is an early test version ("early access"): things will change, and your feedback shapes it.
