Hugo's Bike Tours (HBTA)

Plan your next bike tour, find your way and keep a record of your rides. HBTA is for adults aged 18+. Maps and routing are limited to the available Germany data area. GET STARTED WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT Guest mode lets you record locally after voluntary GPS consent and use GPX files. Fitness and server synchronisation stay off. Guest rides are not automatically transferred to an account used later. Online planning, account synchronisation and community features require an account with a verified email address. PLAN AND FOLLOW ROUTES Choose touring, road, gravel or MTB. The HBTA server calculates your route; maps use OpenStreetMap data. Elevation profiles, turn instructions and voice guidance assist you. Own and shared tours with suitable data can be recalculated as complete routes; these may differ from the original. RECORD YOUR RIDE Start and finish manually after GPS consent. See speed, distance, active time and a tour summary; recording can continue with the screen off. Navigation and recording need precise location. Auto-pause is off by default: GPS and temporary local motion signals support pausing and resuming. Only you resume a manual pause. GPS and sensors use battery and can be inaccurate. PREPARE A TOUR FOR OFFLINE USE For a calculated tour, download a bounded map package with its route and instructions. Check completion before riding: map coverage and detail are limited to the package. No whole-country download or offline recalculation. Planning and rerouting need internet; voice guidance needs an installed offline voice. GPX AND COMMUNITY TOURS Preview and import GPX locally without automatic uploads. Follow the original line, preserving separate segments. This mode has no turn instructions or recalculation. Exports contain the full selected route and are unencrypted; precise timestamps are off by default. Your document provider may use cloud storage. Shared files cannot be revoked. Filter community tours by published region labels, such as Kassel or Werra-Meißner-Kreis, distance, ascent and declared surface. There is no official boundary matching or complete regional coverage. Radius searches send your chosen planning destination, not automatically your current GPS location. OSM places and gradient estimates may be incomplete; opening and drinking-water safety are unverified. PRIVATE STORAGE, DELIBERATE SHARING Synchronise recordings individually or enable private automatic synchronisation, which is off by default. Neither publishes tours nor uploads photos. Profile photos stay private. Choose community publications and share links separately. Links can be revoked and expire after no more than 30 days. For new recording links, you can separately allow a messenger map preview. It shows only the shared route; if the basemap is unavailable, a labelled route outline appears. Existing links stay unchanged. Review titles and lines: trimming tour ends does not guarantee anonymity. Messengers can retain copies. Optionally create an MP4 on your phone with up to three photos you have the right to share. Photos are not uploaded to a video cloud. Map requests may reveal your IP address and the viewed area. Sharing a video and a tour link are separate choices; sent copies cannot be revoked. Chat requires an invitation, approval and acceptance of the community rules. Text messages and users can be reported; users can be blocked. FITNESS AND SAFETY Fitness is separate from GPS. Only enabling fitness requires age and weight; these and approximate calorie estimates stay on your phone. HBTA is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Observe signs, closures and access rights; operate your phone only while stopped.
