Full description
HA Remote is a lean remote control for your own Home Assistant installation. You pick the devices that matter to you and control them from a tidy tile panel – grouped by room, with live status. FEATURES • Tile panel: your devices at a glance, grouped by the rooms from Home Assistant. • Demo mode: right after installing, the app starts with simulated devices – to try it out, with no Home Assistant of your own. Ends automatically once you set up a connection. • Multiple pages: split the panel into tabs when you need to, assign each tile to a page. • Free choice of tiles: browse every entity – grouped by device – select them, arrange them in any order, and customise name, room and icon per tile. • One tap is enough: switch lights, plugs, scenes, scripts, switches, locks and more directly. • Detail controls: brightness, colour (RGB) and colour temperature for lights, position for covers (with a shutter view), target temperature and mode for thermostats, playback and volume for media players. • On-tile sliders: adjust brightness and cover position right on the tile if you like. • Sensor tiles: show temperature, humidity, consumption, battery level. • Weather tile: a slim tile at the top of the panel with indoor and outdoor temperature, expandable for more values (apparent temperature, dew point, humidity, wind with a small compass …). Sensors freely assignable. • Camera tiles: preview image on the tile, tap opens full screen with zoom and live refresh. • Protect switches: a per-tile confirmation prompt, release only via fingerprint / device PIN, or a cancellable countdown. • Status sensor: link a switch to a sensor (e.g. a relay's feedback line) – shows the real state, not just "I switched it". • "All off": optional switch per room and globally, with selectable devices. • Panel search for quick filtering – tolerant of accents and multiple search words. • Live updates via WebSocket, with automatic reconnect – also after returning from the background. • Local and remote address: store a second URL (e.g. Home Assistant Cloud) and the app switches automatically when you are away. • Automatic discovery of the instance via mDNS on the local network. Scan the token from a QR code. • Export / import the configuration (without the token) for a quick device move. • Invisible mode for wall tablets: a Home Assistant helper hides search and menu. • App lock via fingerprint or device PIN. • Quick Settings tile for Android: switch a chosen entity straight from the status bar without opening the app. • Home screen widget: a compact 1x1 tile with a freely chosen entity and icon (pick from several suggestions), several side by side, switches right on tap. • Android Auto: up to 6 quick actions in the car display. • Adjustable tiles per row and tile size, room headers can be hidden. Light and dark theme, follows the system. • Customisable tile look: border thickness/color and background color (also per tile); multi-select in the Arrange tab for bulk delete. • App language English or German – or automatic, following the device setting. SETUP 1. In Home Assistant, click your user name at the bottom left → "Security" → create a long-lived access token. 2. In the app, search for the instance (or enter the address), paste the token or scan the QR code, test the connection. 3. Under "Manage tiles", select and sort the entities you want. PRIVACY • HA Remote only connects to the server you specify. • URL and token are stored only locally on your device. • No user accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. No data is sent to the developer or third parties. • Camera – only for scanning the setup QR code, no storage or transmission. NOTES • HA Remote is an unofficial project and is not affiliated with Home Assistant or Nabu Casa. • For access while away you need to provide reachability for your instance yourself (e.g. VPN or Home Assistant Cloud); the app does not include its own remote access. • Home Assistant 2023.x or newer is recommended.
