Aalener Optik-Formelrechner

Please note: The application interface is currently available in German only. The Aalener Optik-Formelrechner provides a quick and easy way to calculate a variety of optical functions. At the moment the following features are implemented: • Paraxial raytracing • Exact raytracing for an object on the optical axis • Calculation of oblique crossed cylinders with optional sphere • Calculation of refractive index • Calculation of relative transmission • Calculation of radii for lenses which are free of spherical aberration or coma • Calculation and visualization for error of refraction, astigmatism, distortion, volume, weight and dimensions of spherical toric lenses • Conversion of Back Vertex Distances (e.g. glasses to contact lenses) The application was originally developed as part of a bachelor's thesis at Aalen University. It is meant to check calculations and takes part in the interactive lectures. The app is also interesting for opticians and students of other scientific courses. The Aalener Optik-Formelrechner is an offering of Aalen University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Aalen). The app is free of ads, does not require an internet connection and does not request permissions for access to personal or sensitive user data.
