QuietSlate

QuietSlate is a Markdown notebook for people who would rather write than configure. Open it and you are already in a note. Type the marks you already know — # for a heading, ** for bold, - [ ] for a checklist — and tap the eye to see the whole thing formatted. Tap it again and you are back in the plain text, which is exactly what the app saved. WRITE IN PLAIN MARKDOWN A twelve-button toolbar wraps whatever you have selected: bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, headings, bullet and numbered lists, checklists, quotes, links, fenced code blocks and dividers. Nothing is hidden behind a menu, and nothing rewrites your text behind your back. READ IT BACK PROPERLY The preview pane renders headings, emphasis, code, quotes, rules and lists — and checklists stay tappable, so you can tick items off without leaving the formatted view. FOURTEEN TEMPLATES Daily journal, morning pages, five good things, meeting notes, standup log, project brief, retrospective, bug report, code snippet, book notes, reading list, recipe, travel plan and idea dump. Preview one, then start a slate from it. SHELVES, TAGS AND SEARCH Group notes into notebooks with their own colour and glyph. Add up to eight tags per slate. Search titles, body text and tags at once, pin what matters to the top, and sort by most recently edited, newest, title or length. INSIGHTS THAT TRACK THE HABIT, NOT YOU A seven-day word chart, a twelve-week writing heat map, a streak counter and a breakdown of where your words live — plus ten achievements drawn from your actual library rather than a parallel points system. YOUR NOTES STAY PUT Every slate is saved in a database on this phone. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing syncing in the background, and the app contains no analytics or ads. Want a copy somewhere else? Share any note as Markdown. Uninstalling removes the notes along with the app, so export first. QuietSlate asks for no runtime permissions whatsoever.
