Zahor: Yahrzeit Reminder

Zahor works out the yahrzeit of your loved ones on the Hebrew calendar and reminds you every year, so you never have to think about it. A yahrzeit (azkara, hazkara or nahala, depending on your tradition) moves every year on the civil calendar. Enter the date of passing once: Zahor finds the matching Hebrew date, handles leap years and their two months of Adar, and reminds you as the anniversary approaches. A MEMORIAL FOR EACH LOVED ONE Create a page for everyone you remember: first name, Hebrew name, photo and the memories you want to keep. Write freely, or let a few questions guide you toward what matters: their voice, a recipe, a phrase they used to say. REMINDERS YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO CALCULATE • The exact Hebrew date of every yahrzeit, handled for you • A notification before the day, to prepare the prayers or buy the candle • A clear countdown to the next date • The shift at sunset taken into account, as tradition requires THE HEBREW CALENDAR AT HAND The full luach: today's Hebrew date, the weekly parsha, holidays, and your own remembrance dates on top. ASHKENAZI OR SEPHARDI, FOLLOWING YOUR RITE Choose your tradition once. It decides which month counts in leap years (Adar I or Adar II) and which parent is named in the Hebrew lineage, the father or the mother. Dates and texts follow, with nothing to revisit. PRAYERS, TEHILLIM AND RITUAL Today's Tehillim (Psalms), the hashkava, Kaddish and the memorial prayers, in Hebrew with an English translation and transliteration. On the day of the yahrzeit, Zahor walks you through what is done: light the candle, gather a minyan, give tzedakah, study a text. THE FIRST YEAR OF MOURNING For a parent, Zahor marks the end of the eleven months of Kaddish and the date of the first yahrzeit: two landmarks people look for precisely when they are least able to count. THE HILLULOT OF THE TZADDIKIM Follow this week's hillulot, with the biographies of the tzaddikim and the dates of their passing. TOGETHER AS A FAMILY Share a memorial with your family circle: everyone sees the same dates, gets the same reminders and can add their own memories. Invite relatives to the yahrzeit with a single link. START WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT Record a first yahrzeit right away, no sign-up needed. Create an account later, with email, Apple or Google, to find your memorials on another phone and share them with your family. YOUR PRIVACY, RESPECTED Zahor is built with restraint. Your memories belong to you: what you write in your memorials, names, photos and texts, is never used for advertising or analytics. No ads, no in-app purchases. May their memory be a blessing.
