Yako makes it easy to prepare a location and help message for your loved ones in an emergency. HOW IT WORKS Tap the SOS button and a help message is prepared. If location permission is granted and a current location can be obtained, a location link is added to the message. Yako opens the SMS or WhatsApp screen for each recipient — you confirm and send it yourself. Yako does not send messages automatically and cannot confirm that a message was delivered. MESSAGE REMINDERS Create a local notification for a date and time you choose. Tap the notification to review the message and finish sending it in the relevant app. Reminders may be delayed or not shown, depending on your phone's battery and notification settings. CONTACTS Add contacts manually, or pick a number from Android's contact picker. Yako does not read your entire address book. DATA & ADS Your saved contacts and reminders are kept in the app's storage on your device; they are not uploaded to any server run by Yako. The recipient you choose, the message, and the location link (if any) are passed to SMS or WhatsApp. To display the map, OpenStreetMap receives your IP address and the map area shown. The app includes Google AdMob ads. Google's ad SDK may process approximate location, device identifiers, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic data. Details are in our privacy policy.
