Full description
Three German words a day. The ones that actually stick. Most language apps turn learning into a second job: streaks to defend, notifications that nag, a feed with no bottom. Wortschatz does the opposite. It's the calm way to learn German: three new words a day — a noun, a verb, an adjective. Learn them in a quiet minute, then get on with your life. HOW IT WORKS Each morning you get three words picked for your level, and each one lives in a real example sentence — not a word floating in a vacuum. The sentence changes with your reminder times, so you meet the word in a fresh context morning, noon and night. Tap to hear it spoken in a natural voice. Not feeling one of today's words? Skip it and a new one takes its place — with undo if you change your mind. Keep the ones worth keeping, mark the rest known, and you're done for the day. WHY IT FEELS DIFFERENT • No streaks, no guilt, no infinite feed. • One noun, one verb, one adjective a day — never three random nouns. • Real sentences with translations, so words arrive with meaning attached. • A calm pace that fits your day instead of taking it over. OPEN A WORD, SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE Tap any word for the parts that matter: the article and plural for nouns (der, die, das), the part of speech, the CEFR level, all three example sentences with translations, and native audio for the word and every sentence — at a speaking speed you set. SEE HOW GERMANS ACTUALLY USE IT (PRO) Every word carries an "In context" view drawn from millions of real German sentences: the words it's most often used with, the topics it shows up in, and extra example sentences graded from A1 to C2. It's the difference between knowing a word and knowing how to use it. A FULL PATH, A1 TO C2 A vocabulary of more than 9,500 hand-picked words, each in three real sentences. The words are frequency-ranked from real German, so you learn what you'll actually meet first — and you can climb from your very first words all the way to fluent range. Switch on "mix in lower levels" to keep older words in rotation while you push ahead. REVIEW THE WAY YOU LIKE • Favourites: tap the heart to save any word for later. • Light Speed: a fast multiple-choice round against the clock. • Flashcards: flip through the words you've seen or saved. • A home-screen widget puts today's three words one glance away. MAKE IT YOURS Choose which word types you want. Pick adjectives or adverbs for the third daily word. Set your own reminder times — or turn reminders off completely. Switch between light and dark. Use the app in your language: English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Russian or Ukrainian. And it works properly with screen readers — the whole app, not just the easy screens. YOURS, AND OFFLINE The whole dictionary lives inside the app. No internet to learn German, no account, no sign-up, no ads. We don't sell your data, and your progress stays on your device. WHO IT'S FOR Beginners taking their first steps. Returning learners dusting off a rusty vocabulary. Advanced speakers filling the gaps. Anyone who wants German to fit a real life — a commute, a coffee, a quiet minute — instead of demanding all of it. START AT A1. UNLOCK ONCE. A1 is free, forever — more than enough to know if Wortschatz is for you. One payment unlocks every level from A2 to C2, cross-level review and "In context" on every word, for good. No subscription. No recurring fee. Pay once, keep it for life. Start with three words tomorrow morning. Words are drawn from the Wortschatz Leipzig corpora of Leipzig University (CC BY 4.0). Made in Berlin.
