Workryde helps Nairobi commuters share scheduled trips with other people travelling along compatible routes. Confirm a work email, add your regular locations, then browse or host rides for the daily commute. Plan a shared commute - Browse public rides going your way - Choose pickup and alighting stages along the route - Post a scheduled ride with seats and a bounded per-seat contribution - Coordinate accepted bookings through in-app chat - Receive booking and trip notifications During the trip - Drivers can start an active trip and share their precise location with matched riders - Riders can follow the active trip on a live map - Drivers and riders confirm pickup in the app - Bluetooth scanning may be used during a pickup window as supporting proximity evidence; it cannot confirm pickup on its own - A user can create a booking-bound trip-following link and choose who receives it; anyone holding that link may view that trip while the booking remains active and the link is available Profiles and vehicles - Work-email confirmation is required; disposable and unsupported email domains may be rejected - Users provide a name, phone number, home and work locations, and a signup selfie or profile image - Drivers add vehicle details and activate the vehicle with a plate-visible photo before hosting rides - Ratings and ride history help participants make informed choices Payments - Ride credits can be added through M-Pesa STK Push - Booking and transaction records are shown in the app - Driver earnings and payout requests are available, but payout processing remains subject to Workryde operations and provider readiness - No surge pricing Safety and control - In-app chat keeps ride coordination in Workryde - Users can save emergency contacts and use the SOS flow during a trip - Trip links are user-created, expire automatically, and can be stopped in the app by revoking every active link for that booking - Accounts can be deleted in the app or through https://workryde.com/delete-account; financial and safety records may be retained for the periods stated in the privacy policy Workryde is a carpool coordination service, not a taxi or on-demand ride-hailing operator.
