Full description
Sailors, walkers and gardeners have always been able to name a wind just by looking — the way smoke leans, leaves shiver, whole trees heave, or the sea turns from glass to spray. Gale teaches that skill using the Beaufort scale, the elegant thirteen-step system that turns "it's a bit blowy" into something you can actually judge. Every force from 0 to 12 comes alive on screen: a land scene where a tree sways, smoke drifts and a flag stiffens harder as the wind rises, paired with a sea scene whose waves, whitecaps and foam build force by force — all drawn and animated in the app, so you see exactly what each level looks like in the real world. Open any force for the full picture: its proper name from Calm through Fresh breeze to Storm and Hurricane force, its speed range shown in knots, km/h or mph as you prefer, and clear plain-language descriptions of the tell-tale signs on land and at sea, right down to rough wave heights. A side-by-side comparison lets you learn the land and sea vocabularies together, so the same gust makes sense whether you're on a hillside or a harbour wall. The part that really builds the skill is the estimator. Drag a slider from dead calm to full hurricane and watch the scenes respond in real time, feeling how each step differs from the next. Or switch to "read the signs": tick off what you can actually see — smoke drifting, leaves rustling, umbrellas turning inside out — and the app suggests the likely force. Progressive quizzes then put you to the test, naming forces from a scene, matching signs to numbers, and recalling roughly how fast a fresh breeze really blows, keeping your best score as your eye sharpens. Switch freely between Bulgarian and English, pick your speed units and animation intensity, and learn anywhere — completely offline, with no sensors, no forecast and no ads, just an honest note that it's for estimation and learning. Whether you sail, fly a kite, walk the coast or simply want to sound like you know your weather, Gale turns a glance out the window into a confident read of the wind.
