The app helps you discover which species have been observed nearby, study plant characteristics, and better understand dangerous lookalikes while spending time outdoors. It combines map-based biodiversity observations, plant traits, seasonality, and safety notes into a structured tool for learning about plants in their ecological context. What the app offers • Explore nearby plants: See which species have been documented in your area based on public biodiversity data. • Study plant traits: Learn to recognize leaves, flowers, habitats, and seasonal patterns. • Understand lookalikes: Compare edible plants with similar species that are commonly confused with them. • Recipe inspiration: Discover simple ways plants have traditionally been used in the kitchen. Safety notice Wild plants can have dangerous lookalikes. Wild Forager is an educational learning tool and does not guarantee plant identification. Always confirm plant identity independently and never consume wild plants unless you are completely certain.
