Whelpy: Dog Breeding Records

Whelpy is a record-keeping app for dog breeders. It holds the whelping notes, the puppy weigh-ins, the worming and vaccination dates and the council paperwork in one place, so you are not rebuilding a year of records from a notebook, a camera roll and your memory. WHELPING AND PREGNANCY • Count down from the mating to the due date, with the scan and x-ray dates worked out for you. • Take temperatures through the last week and watch for the pre-whelp drop on a chart. • Record the whelping as it happens — birth times, sexes, colours, birth weights — at three in the morning, on your phone, in the shed. PUPPY WEIGHTS AND GROWTH • Weigh the whole litter in one pass. • Every puppy's gain is worked out for you, in grams and as a percentage. • See one puppy's growth curve, or the whole litter on a single chart. HEALTH • Worming and vaccination schedules build themselves from each litter's date of birth. • A due-and-overdue list tells you what needs doing today. • Log treatments for adult dogs as well as puppies, with product, batch number and dose. YOUR DOGS • A register of your breeding dogs with dates of birth, microchip numbers, health test results and breed. • Seasons and matings recorded against the bitch, so the history is there when you need it. BUYERS • Keep the waiting list, the reservations and who has which puppy. • Buyers get their own private login to follow their puppy's photos, weights and milestones. • Message a buyer inside Whelpy instead of losing the thread in a chat app. • Upload a contract and let the buyer sign it. THE PAPERWORK • A council record book you can hand over or save as a PDF, built around the record-keeping schedule you are licensed under — England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Tell Whelpy which, and the registers, the wording and the regulation references all follow it. • Breeding registers, whelping records and puppy sale records, filled in from what you have already entered. • An income and expense book for stud fees, vet bills, food, microchipping and licences, with the receipt attached to the entry. • Mileage and hours, and a tax-year summary. • Export the lot to a spreadsheet whenever you want it. Export them whenever you like, and ask us to erase them if you leave. • The record book covers England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland — the four regimes differ, and Whelpy follows the one you pick.
