HookScan puts live weather radar and the information around it on one focused map. View live NEXRAD radar products and available elevation tilts, play 12 recent completed scans, compare two radar views, and retrieve historical radar data from a selected date and time. Add official weather warnings, lightning, storm reports, town and highway labels, GOES satellite imagery, weather model loops, and other weather layers when needed. WeatherCore explains the selected radar product and the weather information currently loaded, and helps users understand forecasts, warnings, and HookScan controls. Cloud ID compares a user-selected photo with common cloud families and explains uncertainty. HookScan includes: • Live NEXRAD products and elevation tilts • 12-frame radar playback and historical lookup • Official weather warnings and forecasts • GOES satellite and weather model loops • Lightning, storm reports, analysis, and map overlays • Independent dual-radar comparison • WeatherCore weather and app guidance • Cloud ID and radar learning tools • Optional saved places, account sync, widgets, and local notification controls Location, camera, photos, notifications, and accounts are optional and requested only for features the user chooses. Live radar and official weather information remain available without creating an account. Android background remote warning delivery is not enabled in this beta. Keep Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled and follow official National Weather Service information and local emergency instructions. HookScan is a supplemental weather-awareness tool and should not be used as the only source of warning information.

What's new

HookScan public beta for Android phones and tablets. Build 27 improves location and camera permission recovery, widgets, radar playback, history, elevation switching, dual radar, in-app alert sound and voice recovery, WeatherCore, and Cloud ID. Please report crashes, stale data, heat, clipping, or incorrect weather information from Settings → Report a beta issue.
