DeepRooted: Faith & Culture

In a world of screens, algorithms, and AI, it is easy to feel busy but disconnected: from family, from community, from the traditions we grew up with, and even from ourselves. DeepRooted helps you look inward, reconnect with your roots, and grow into the person you were created to be. It uses technology to restore human connection, not replace it. Rooted in the ethical and spiritual foundation of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo tradition, and open to anyone who wants to preserve culture, values, faith, and humanity. SEVEN JOURNEYS Walk through seven guided journeys, each with short lessons, a key idea, and a question to reflect on: Who am I? Identity, heritage, values, and family story Where did I come from? Land, ancestry, village, and traditions What do I believe? Faith, prayer, sacred teaching, and fasting How should I live? Humility, hospitality, honoring elders, and forgiveness Humanity in the AI era: attention, isolation, and using technology wisely How can I reconnect? Family, community, faith, and self How can I flourish? Gifts, character, gratitude, service, and legacy GUIDED REFLECTION Compare how connected you were growing up with how connected you are today. DeepRooted helps you see what changed, understand why, and choose one practical step forward. Reflections work fully offline. PRACTICES THAT BUILD HABITS Choose 7-day and 21-day practices such as reaching out to an elder, protecting a shared meal, a phone-free start and end to the day, hosting a coffee ceremony, hidden acts of kindness, daily prayer or stillness, and teaching a tradition to the next generation. MY ROOTS Record the people, places, and traditions that shaped you. Build a "Carry Forward" list of the values and practices you want to bring into your future and pass on to your children.
