That's it. One tap. Instant feedback. ⚠️ AN HONEST NOTE ABOUT MANUAL VOLUME CHANGES Modern Android and phone manufacturers aggressively restrict background processes to preserve battery life. Because of these restrictions, apps like VToggler are not allowed to constantly listen for system volume changes in the background without draining your battery or showing a permanent notification. To keep VToggler lightweight, battery-friendly, and reliable, the widget maintains its own internal state. This guarantees a consistent, predictable cycle every time you tap it. If you manually change your volume using your phone's physical buttons, the widget will simply register the system's true state and update its icon the next time you tap it or open the settings screen. This approach keeps battery usage low while ensuring reliable widget behavior. 👨‍👩‍👧 A PERSONAL PROJECT VToggler was originally built for my family, who had trouble navigating volume rockers and settings menus to mute their phones. The app we used years ago was abandoned by its developer, and while other alternatives existed, none of them let us customize the icons — which was the feature we wanted most. So I built my own.
