Full description
Vrat is a Hindu fasting calendar that computes every vrat from the actual positions of the Sun and Moon — not from a table of dates that goes stale. That means it works for any year, in any city, entirely offline. WHAT IT SHOWS YOU • Today's fast, what it is for, and how it is kept • When to break it — the parana window, moonrise, or the next sunrise • The next fast, always one tap away • The full panchang: tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana, lunar month and samvat • Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, and the muhurtas including Rahu Kaal, Abhijit, Brahma, Nishita and Pradosh EVERY FAST IN THE YEAR All 24 Ekadashis by name, from Kamada to Papmochani — plus Padmini and Parama in an Adhika Maas year. Pradosh Vrat. Sankashti and Vinayaka Chaturthi, with the thirteen forms of Ganesha. Masik Shivaratri and Maha Shivaratri. Purnima and Amavasya. Durgashtami, Kalashtami, Skanda Sashti. Both Navratris and both Gupt Navratris. Karva Chauth, Ahoi Ashtami, Hartalika, Hariyali and Kajari Teej, Vat Savitri, Jivitputrika. Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Ram Navami, Chhath, Diwali, Dhanteras, Govardhan, Bhai Dooj, Tulsi Vivah and more. For each one: why it is kept, the story behind it, what you may and may not eat, the puja steps in order, and the mantra. COMPUTED PROPERLY, NOT LOOKED UP The day a fast falls on is not the same rule for every fast, and getting it wrong misdates the biggest festivals of the year. Vrat uses the correct one in each case — sunrise for most, sunset for Pradosh and Diwali, moonrise for Sankashti and Karva Chauth, midnight for Shivaratri and Janmashtami, midday for Ganesh Chaturthi. It handles vriddhi and kshaya tithis, detects Adhika Maas on its own, and offers both the Smarta and Vaishnava Ekadashi reckoning. Where communities genuinely keep a fast on different days, the app says so instead of quietly picking one. YOUR CITY, WHEREVER THAT IS Sunrise decides the date, so location is not decoration. Over 140 cities from Varanasi to Edison, Dubai to Melbourne, each with its own timezone and daylight saving handled. KEEP A RECORD Log each fast as you keep it — in full, partly, or broken early — with a note. See your streaks counted over the fasts that actually came round, and a year of your fasting at a glance. FREE, AND STAYING FREE Every fast, every timing, every puja step and the whole catalogue are free and always will be. No account. No sign-in. Nothing leaves your device.
