Aura Reader: EPUB, Speed & TTS

Aura Reader is an EPUB reader for Android. You can read a book page by page, speed-read it, or have your phone read it aloud, and it keeps your place across all three. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your books stay on your phone and everything works offline. READING • Turn pages or scroll. Pick the font, size, spacing and theme. Pictures are sized to fit the page. • Tap any word to move the reading position or the voice to it. • Hold to select text, then look up a word, translate it, copy it or save it as a quote. • Tone Colors tints dialogue, questions and exclamations, so you can tell who is talking at a glance. • Full-text search, bookmarks, and links that work for footnotes and the table of contents. • Hide the status and navigation bars and read full screen. Tap to bring them back. SPEED READING • Flash: one word at a time in the middle of the screen, at the speed you set. Pause to see the whole page. • Guided: the page stays put and a highlight moves through it. • Lines: one line at a time, timed to its length. LISTENING • Any EPUB can be read aloud with your phone's own text-to-speech voices. • The current word is highlighted and the page follows along. • Plays in the background, with controls on the lock screen and in notifications. • Sleep timer, 15-second skip and speed from 0.5× to 3×. • A mini player keeps going while you browse your library. Switch between reading, speed reading and listening in the middle of a chapter and you stay on the same word. DICTIONARY AND TRANSLATION • Offline dictionary packs, Wiktionary lookups and on-device translation. • Words and phrases you save stay underlined in the book. Tap one to see its definition and translations on a single card. YOUR LIBRARY • Import EPUB files or keep whole folders in sync. • Four views: List, Grid, Bookcase and Orbit. In the Bookcase you can take a 3D book off the shelf, turn it over and open it. Orbit shows your covers in 3D. • Each book has a menu for its status (To read, Reading, Read), rating, tags and collections. One tap changes each. • Mark favorites, search by title or author, and sort by date, title, author, progress or rating. • Links to free public-domain books from Standard Ebooks and Project Gutenberg. QUOTES AND STATS • Turn a passage into an image with one of five templates, using the book's cover or a color you pick, and share it. • See your reading time, words per minute, books finished each month and your streak. Every day you read counts toward it. • A year of reading days as a heatmap, by month, year, grid or sunburst.
