Full description

Walk into history along Calgary's Memorial Drive. The Veterans Walkway app is your companion to 31 bronze medallions honouring Calgarians who have served, from the First World War to today. Follow the interactive map for five kilometres along the Bow River, and as you reach each medallion its story unlocks — written accounts, historical photographs, and audio narration, told in English, French, Punjabi, and Chinese. Can't walk the route in person? Explore every story from home, browse by theme, and search the full collection right in the app. FEATURES – Interactive map of all 31 medallions along Memorial Drive – Stories, archival photos, and audio for each medallion, in four languages – Proximity awareness — arrive at a medallion and its story appears – Storylines that group related medallions by theme – Search the full collection by name, story, or topic – Free to use, no account required The Veterans Walkway is a public memorial project preserving the stories behind Calgary's Memorial Drive. The app is a guide, not a navigation tool — please stay alert to traffic and your surroundings while walking the route.
