Full description
Iqra is a complete Quran and Islamic learning app — and it has no ads. Not a trial. Not a subscription. Not ad-free "for now". There is no advertising in Iqra at all and nothing to buy inside it. No banner while you read, no full-screen ad between lessons, no video before a surah opens. You will not be interrupted in the middle of an ayah. There is no sign-up either. No account, no email, no password. Open it and start reading. READ THE QURAN The complete mushaf, by para or by surah, in a clean distraction-free reader that remembers exactly where you stopped. Jump to any surah and it opens on the correct page. Scroll straight from one para into the next. Day, sepia and night modes. ISLAMIC HISTORY, PROPERLY COVERED The part most Quran apps leave out, and the part people come back for. Ghazawat — the battles of the Prophetic era as a timeline you can walk through: Badr, Uhud, Khandaq, Khaybar, Mu'tah, the conquest of Makkah, Hunayn, Tabuk and the campaigns that followed. Each carries the date, the place, who led each side, the numbers, the outcome, what the Quran says about it, and what is to be learned from it, plus real photographs of the locations today with their sources. No person is ever depicted. Quran Journey — how the Quran was revealed, across the twenty-three years from the cave of Hira to the verse at Arafah. Browse all 114 surahs in mushaf or revelation order, filter Makki from Madani, and read the occasion of revelation where one is recorded. Prophets — the 25 prophets named in the Quran, in order, with their lineage, the people they were sent to, their stories as the Quran tells them, and the Quranic references for each. STUDY AND UNDERSTAND Tafsir — verse-by-verse translation and commentary from published scholars, with bookmarks so you can build your own study list. Hadith — the major collections including Bukhari and Muslim, with proper right-to-left Urdu typesetting, not a translation bolted on the side. 99 Names — the names of Allah, each with a full explanation, swipeable one to the next. LEARN, STEP BY STEP Learn Quran covers all 30 paras and all 114 surahs across three levels — beginner, medium and advanced — with 1,356 bilingual quizzes. Every question cites its source, so you are never asked to take an answer on trust. Your progress is remembered. A second track adds lessons, quizzes and flashcards across seven subject areas, cited the same way. DAILY PRACTICE Prayer Times — accurate daily timings calculated on your device, with reminders and the full adhan. Set your city by hand or use your approximate location. Several calculation methods, including the Hanafi Asr. Qibla — a clear compass bearing to the Kaaba from wherever you are. Zikr and Tasbih — daily remembrances, the sunnah methods, and a counter you can set to any target and add your own dhikr to. Prayer Tracker and Ramadan — log your prayers and fasts, and keep sehri and iftar times to hand. BUILT TO WORK OFFLINE The lessons, the history sections, prayer calculations, Qibla, tasbih and the 99 Names all run on your device. The mushaf and tafsir download once and stay available. Iqra works on a plane, in a masjid basement, or anywhere the signal drops. ENGLISH AND URDU THROUGHOUT Genuine bilingual support with real right-to-left layout. Numerals, quiz options and reading order follow the language you choose — not machine translation pasted over an English app. PRIVACY, PLAINLY Iqra has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for. There is no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK in the app. Your approximate location, if you grant it, is used on your device for prayer times and the Qibla direction and is never sent anywhere. The only thing Iqra downloads is the Quran and tafsir library itself. Full policy: https://umerqureshi.com/mobile-apps/iqra/privacy Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Built with care by Umer Qureshi. If something is wrong or missing, tell us via the contact form on umerqureshi.com.

What's new

A focused, faster Iqra. The home screen is reorganised — the Quran first, then Zikr and Qibla, with everything else grouped by what you are trying to do: prayer, study, and Islamic history. Prayer reminders now use your phone's own notification sound. The built-in azan recording is on hold and will return in a later update. Fixed: in Ghazawat, the list of notable companions cut off in Urdu so only the first name showed. All names now appear. Still free. Still no ads.
