Full description
Accession is a charming reading log designed for book clubs that want a focused, beautiful way to manage their monthly selections and discussions. The entire experience feels like thumbing through a vintage library card catalog, complete with aged cardstock textures, metal rod details, and brass drawer pull tabs. Your reading history stays completely on your device, so every title, date, and note remains private and instantly accessible without accounts or syncing. From the Home tab, you get an at-a‑glance dashboard showing how many books your club has read together and how many upcoming discussions are already scheduled. The same screen highlights the three most recently added books, each displayed as a miniature catalog card with its current reading status. When you want to browse everything, the Library tab shows all your entries as a searchable, scrolling collection of index cards. Each card carries a colored top stripe—coral for future reads, goldenrod for this month’s pick, and sage for finished titles—plus a tiny embossed date stamp on completed books. Tapping any card opens the Book tab, where the full record appears as an enlarged catalog card with clearly labeled fields for title, author, discussion date, and your own meeting notes. You can edit any detail right there and tap save, or remove a book entirely with the delete option; every change updates the local library immediately. Favorites are marked not with stars or hearts, but by a miniature vintage due‑date bookmark slipped discreetly into the card pocket. The Upcoming tab automatically gathers every book with a future discussion date and sorts them so the nearest meeting appears first, turning your device into a tidy agenda for the next club gathering. Adding a new book is as simple as filling in a clean, distraction‑free form, and the very first time you open an empty library, a blank cardstock welcomes you with a typewriter‑style nudge: “No books yet – add your first club read!” Because all data lives on your phone, you never need an internet connection to log a title or look up last month’s notes. Accession gives your club a practical, elegant tool that respects your focus and brings a little analog warmth to every book you share.
