Full description
PaceTune is a music player for runners that changes the tempo of your music to match your pace. It measures your cadence (steps per minute) with your phone's motion sensor and adjusts the playback speed of the current song on the fly. The pitch of the music stays the same. Whether it is one step per beat or two, PaceTune picks the best way to match the song's BPM automatically. ■ Who it is for - You keep your own music files (MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV and more) - You dislike it when your stride and the beat drift apart - You want your favourite songs at the pace you actually run ■ How it works 1. Add songs. "Import music on this device" adds the songs already on your phone in one go, without copying them. You can also pick files, or choose PaceTune from the share menu. Google Drive files work too. 2. On the player screen choose "Sensor" and start running. PaceTune detects your cadence and the tempo catches up. 3. Found a pace you like? Tap "Lock this pace". You can also set a pace by hand, one step per minute at a time. 4. For normal listening choose "Off" and songs play at their original tempo. ■ Features - Automatic BPM analysis (tag BPM is used when present). Edit it by hand or tap it out - Notification and lock screen controls, background playback - "Pace Fit" auto playlist: only the songs that fit your current pace - Playlists, shuffle, repeat, search - Loudness levelling between songs (can be turned off) - Resumes after phone calls; pauses when headphones are unplugged - 8 sample tracks included, so you can try it without adding any music ■ Important Songs from Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music and other streaming services are protected by DRM and cannot be tempo-shifted by any app. PaceTune works with music you own as files: CD rips, DRM-free purchases, your own recordings, royalty-free tracks and so on. ■ Privacy No account. The only permission is access to music files, requested when you use "Import music on this device". No access to location, photos or contacts. The app makes no network requests, so your music and your running data never leave the device. No ads. ■ Sample tracks Music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0.
