Full description
Mau-Mau is Crazy Eights the way Germany plays it — at the kitchen table, with 32 cards from seven to ace. Offline, no account, no internet. ♣ MAU-MAU VS. CRAZY EIGHTS Same idea: match the suit or the rank and get rid of your cards first. The difference is in the special cards. In Crazy Eights the eight is wild. In Mau-Mau the jack picks the suit, a seven makes the next player draw two and sevens stack up to eight cards, an eight skips the next player, and with your second-to-last card you have to say «Mau» — forget it and you draw a penalty card. House rules switch on and off one by one, so you can play it the way you know it. Three opponents with minds of their own sit at the table: Mr Pepper hoards his jacks, Mila fires her sevens on sight, Leni talks more than she plays. Five difficulty levels — from a beginner who sometimes forgets Mau to a master who counts every card that has been played. ♣ NO ADS BETWEEN GAMES No video after a game. An ad only runs if you start it yourself: to double the coins of a won game, or to wear a face for a day. Never otherwise. ♣ EVERY HOUSE RULE, ONE SWITCH EACH Stack sevens up to eight, eight as a skip or «draw two» (Austria, Switzerland), pass a skip on with an eight, jack on jack, ace plays again, nine reverses the direction, penalty for a forgotten Mau (none, one or two cards), jack as the last card, play for points up to 100. Plus four ready-made sets: Standard, Pub rules, Kids and Tournament. Two, three or four players, five to seven cards in hand. ♣ FAIR CARDS — AND THE PROOF Your opponents do not see your hand and do not know what lies in the stock. Not a promise, a construction: the AI is handed only its own cards and what lies face up on the table — and a test keeps it that way. «Fair cards» explains how the deck is shuffled, and the statistics show how many jacks and sevens landed on each seat over the last hundred games. ♣ LEARN WITHOUT ANYONE WATCHING The hint does not only point at a card, it says why: «Seven — the next player has only two cards.» Undo takes a move back, Show cards opens every hand. A four-step tutorial and the full rules in plain words. ♣ MAU COINS, TWENTY-SIX FACES, TABLES AND CARD BACKS Won games pay Mau coins, a clean sweep without drawing a single card pays extra, and so does simply showing up each day. Coins buy 26 faces with character: Grandpa Oskar, Mrs Holle, Bo, Vivi — up to Aunt Jette, who smiles kindly and takes everything you have. Everything. Any face can also sit at the table and play against you. Plus seven tables and six card backs. The game is completely free. There is nothing to buy: no subscriptions, no coin packs, no surprise packs. Coins come from playing only, and losing never costs any. No gambling, no stakes, no account. ♣ ALSO INSIDE Game history with every move of every game. Replay the same deal — even with an opponent's cards. Statistics by number of players and difficulty. French or Bavarian deck, four-colour deck on request. German and English, switchable mid-game. Large cards and large type, and with more than eight cards the hand simply scrolls. No account, no sign-up, no connection required — Mau-Mau on the train, in the waiting room and anywhere else without a signal.

What's new

The first public version: Mau-Mau offline, no account and no forced ads. Seven draws two, eight skips, the jack wishes a suit – plus four ready-made rule sets, five difficulty levels and a tutorial right on the main menu. On the first start you pick your own face. Have fun at the table!
