ThreadRecap: Chat to Record

ThreadRecap turns a chat export into a dated, readable record you can actually use. Export the conversation from WhatsApp, share it straight into ThreadRecap, and get back a timeline of what was said, promised and paid, with voice messages turned into text you can read and search. WHAT THE APP DOES • Receives the export from the share sheet. No saving the file, hunting for it in a file manager, or emailing it to yourself. Opening a file you already have on the phone works too. • Shows you what will be analyzed before anything runs: message count, participants, date range, the voice messages included and the exact price. Narrow the dates to the part of the conversation that matters. • Reads the archive on the phone, so the analysis starts from what you approved and nothing else. • Gives you a recap built for reading: summary, decisions mentioned, action items, open questions and notable quotes. • Lets you ask follow-up questions and get answers drawn from the whole conversation. • Turns voice messages into text you can read next to the audio itself. • Keeps the original messages available in date order, inside the app. • Opens the documents generated from a recap and exports them as PDF, Word or Markdown. • Puts names to numbers. With your permission, the app compares the participants with your phone's address book on the device itself, so you read people instead of phone numbers. PRIVACY • The archive is opened and read on your phone. • Photos and videos are never uploaded. • Passwords and other sensitive strings are removed before anything is sent. • Your address book never leaves the phone. The comparison runs on the device and no contact data is sent to us or to anyone else. • You decide whether voice messages are included, before the analysis starts. • You can delete a recap, the export copies the app keeps on your phone, or your entire account, from inside the app. CREDITS Analyses are paid for with credits. Credit packs are sold inside the app through Google Play. What an analysis costs depends on how many messages and how many minutes of audio you include, and the exact figure is shown before you confirm. GOOD TO KNOW • Video attachments are not analyzed in the app, and very long recordings are refused before a price is quoted rather than dropped silently. • The app works with the standard chat export file. It never connects to your messaging account and asks for no access to it. • Available in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and German.
