Thereafter: Letter Journal

Every day, a letter arrives from someone called The Writer. You have never met them. But they'll write like they know you. Some letters are thoughtful, some are quirky, some arrive as poems. A few are best read with the lights on. All of them are written for moments like yours. Save the letters that stay with you. Write an afterthought when something lingers. Turn a favorite into a keepsake card and share it. Let the rest go. Missed a day? Rewind walks you back through past letters, one day at a time — with Premium, all the way back to the very first letter The Writer ever wrote. Nothing is ever lost here. The Archive keeps every letter ever written on shelves you can browse and search, whether or not it ever reached your door. Your unopened letters wait there under wax. Then there is Your Desk, a room of its own in the bar. The Reading Room holds original fiction, read a chapter at a time. Beside the books stand The Writer's Shelves: short letters written for an hour rather than a date, gathered around a theme, from sleepless nights to those read with the door closed. Two more doors are still being built. When you're ready for more: Write a letter to someone you have never met. They'll write back. Just two people being honest with each other. Keep talking in chat, or become pen pals and trade sealed letters, one a day each way. Write a letter to your future self. Seal it with one word for how you feel today, and choose the day it opens. Reflect on it. Stash it in a collection. Months from now, you'll remember who you were when you wrote it. And your capsules are drawn as a sky atlas. Each one you seal becomes a star. Every six you open close a chapter, where those stars settle into a figure named for the feeling you sealed most — a chart that fills at the pace of your own letters.
