Ropes, harnesses, quickdraws, slings, and helmets age out at ten years, with ropes also tracked against heavy-use days. Hardware such as carabiners, belay devices, and cams has no fixed calendar life and is tracked by inspection instead. Every item shows a clear status — active, expiring soon, expired, or retired — and you can override any expiry date when the manufacturer says otherwise. REMINDERS BEFORE IT MATTERS Get notified 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, or 1 week before something expires, on the expiry date itself, and when an annual inspection is due. Choose which warnings you want and what time of day they arrive. LOG FALLS AND INSPECTIONS Record a fall with its date and severity, or an inspection with a pass, fail, or monitor result. A severe fall or a failed inspection retires the item automatically, so compromised gear cannot quietly stay in rotation. A retired rope can be shortened and brought back once the damaged section is cut out; everything else warns you before it can be reactivated.
