Tempo Tunes: BPM Playlists

Pick a tempo. Get a playlist. Tempo Tunes builds playlists around beats per minute. Tell it how fast you want to go: 150 BPM for an easy run, 174 for intervals, 128 for the spin bike. It fills a playlist with songs that actually match your pace. TEMPO, RUN, GOLF, OR RIDE One switch, four ways in. Tempo: set the BPM yourself. Run, Golf, and Ride work it out for you. RUN TEMPO Enter a distance and a goal time and Tempo Tunes works out your pace, your steps per minute, and the BPM that matches your stride. Add your height and it tunes the cadence to you. Or start from a run you recorded: a .fit from Garmin or a .gpx from Strava fills in distance, time, and your measured steps per minute. The playlist is sized to outlast the run, so the music never quits before you do. GOLF TEMPO Every good swing has a rhythm, about three to one, backswing to downswing. Pick a preset (Quick, Tour, or Smooth) or find your own, three ways: hold your phone like a club, film your swing and let the camera watch, or use your Apple Watch and let it count on your wrist. Three practice swings, no club needed. Already timed by a Garmin or another swing trainer? Enter your two times and get your BPM. Your tempo comes back as a full page: your three swings, how alike they were, and where you sit against Quick, Tour, and Smooth. Then the playlist is built so impact lands on the beat, for full swings or putting. RIDE TEMPO Load a bike ride you recorded and the playlist changes tempo where the trail does. Climbs, descents, and cruising each get their own BPM, drawn on your ride's elevation, and you can move any of them. Reads .fit, .gpx, .tcx, and Garmin's zip. Play it at the trailhead and the music turns with the terrain. TEMPO SHAPES Playlists that rise, peak, and fade. Pick a curve (Rise, Bell, or Fade), set where it starts and where it ends, and the playlist rides the arc: warm up, hit your peak, cool down. The shelf shows it too, with a two-color tag for every shaped playlist. FIND YOUR TEMPO Not sure what BPM you need? Head to the BPM tab. Tap along to the beat and Tempo Tunes detects it. Let it listen to a song that's playing and name it with its tempo, search any song's BPM, or upload a track to analyze it. MAKE IT YOURS Blend genres and artists to shape the sound. Lean toward an artist you love and the playlist leans with you. Set a tolerance around your target tempo: tight for steady cadence work, loose for variety. SOUNDS LIKE Pick up to five songs you love and the playlist leans toward their sound, at your tempo. The To my taste slider sets how hard they pull, from subtle to strong. Your favorites shape the mix without repeating it. OBSCURE OR POPULAR A single slider takes every playlist from deep cuts to big names.
