Tawny — Pet Monitor & Pet Cam

Tawny turns two phones into a cosy little pet monitor. Leave one phone with your pet — an old handset on a charger is perfect. It becomes the Monitor: it points its camera at the room, sends the picture and the sound, and answers on its own. Keep the other phone with you as the Viewer: watch, listen in, hold a button to talk back, or play a gentle chime. SETTING UP IS A PHOTO The Monitor shows a code. Point the other phone's camera at it. That's the whole setup — no account, no sign-up, no cloud login, no address to type. IT STAYS PRIVATE On your home Wi-Fi nothing leaves the house: one of your own phones does the job a server would. Video and audio travel straight between your devices, encrypted end to end. Tawny has no ads, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. We never see your video, your sound, or your pairing key. WHEN YOU'RE OUT Tawny can introduce the two phones over the internet the same way — nothing to configure and no ports to open. The service that introduces them only ever sees a one-way hash of your key, never the key, and never your video. Some mobile networks won't let two phones connect directly; when that happens Tawny falls back to an encrypted relay, which forwards the stream without being able to read it. Wi-Fi at either end is still the lightest path. Keep the Monitor on a charger with its screen on — dim mode is fine, and it stops the phone dozing off. Tawny is a pet monitor: please don't rely on it as a baby monitor or as a safety or security device.
