Less scrolling. More living. TapOut helps you put distracting apps on pause and make room for what matters. Pair a physical NFC card, choose the apps that pull your attention away, and start a pause. Leave your card somewhere intentional so returning to your apps becomes a conscious choice. TWO WAYS BACK Open TapOut and scan your paired card to unlock immediately. Don't have your card? Start a ten-minute wait. When the countdown ends, return to TapOut and press Unlock apps. Closing TapOut does not restart the wait. Unlocking ends the pause for every selected app. Your apps stay available until you start another pause. CARD AND PHONE REQUIREMENTS An NFC-capable Android phone and a compatible writable NDEF NFC card are required. A card is not included with the app. This version requires preparing the card with a TapOut text record using an NFC-writing app before pairing. Payment cards, transit passes and access badges are not substitutes for a dedicated writable card. Open TapOut and press its scan button before tapping your card. HOW APP BLOCKING WORKS TapOut uses Android's AccessibilityService API, with your permission, to detect when a selected app opens. During a pause, it returns you to your Home screen and shows a reminder. It does not read screen text. Foreground app events are processed on your phone and are not transmitted by TapOut. TapOut is a voluntary focus aid. You remain able to turn off its permission or uninstall it. It does not provide tamper-proof device restrictions, and behavior may vary by phone. YOUR DATA Your paired-card identifier, selected apps, pause status and unlock deadline are stored locally. This version has no analytics SDK, account system or server connection.
