Full description
DoneScrolling is a screen-time limiter for people who want to limit themselves. Pick the apps that eat your time. Set a daily budget. While you have time left, nothing is blocked. When the budget is spent, those apps are blocked for the rest of the day and come back at midnight. The part that makes it work is what happens when you want out. Tightening a limit is always free and immediate. Block a new app, lower your budget, commit harder: it takes effect the moment you tap. Loosening one is rationed. Removing an app from your list, raising your budget, or granting yourself a day off is roughly one change a week, and it never takes effect before the next midnight. So the version of you at 11pm cannot undo what you decided on Sunday morning. It also shows you the truth about your habit. Trends compares what you use now against what you used before you installed it, and keeps that comparison honest as you add and remove apps. HOW DONESCROLLING USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DoneScrolling uses Android's AccessibilityService API. This is how blocking works, and the app cannot block anything without it. - What it uses: only the name of the app that comes to the front of your screen. The service is configured so it cannot read what is on your screen, what you type, your messages, or your passwords. - Why: when you open an app you chose to limit and your daily budget for it is spent, DoneScrolling shows its lock screen and sends you back to the home screen. That is the core feature of the app. - Where it goes: nowhere. What the service sees stays on your phone. It is not collected, sent to us, or shared with anyone. - Your choice: the app explains this and asks for your agreement before it opens Android's Accessibility settings. You turn the service on yourself, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Accessibility. DoneScrolling is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities, and it does not claim to be. It is a self-control tool for the person who installs it. It is not a parental control app and cannot monitor anyone else. YOUR DATA Your screen time, usage history, and the apps you open never leave your phone. Signing in is optional. If you sign in, we store only your email address and the list of apps you have committed to blocking, so your commitments survive a reinstall. No ads, no analytics, no trackers. You can delete your account in the app or at donescrolling.com/delete-account. DoneScrolling is honest about its limits too. A determined person can uninstall it. It is built to add friction to a habit, not to be a cage.
