Full description
UK salary calculator and take-home pay calculator for the 2026/27 tax year. Enter your salary and see exactly what lands in your bank account after income tax, National Insurance, pension and student loan — worked out on your phone, completely offline. Salary calculator, tax calculator, net pay calculator, PAYE calculator, National Insurance, student loan repayments, pension contributions, Scottish income tax — one app for the question everyone asks: what will I take home? SALARY TO TAKE-HOME IN ONE TAP Type your salary as a yearly, monthly, weekly or hourly figure and instantly see what is left after income tax and National Insurance — per year, month, week, day and hour. Pick England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland: Scottish tax bands are built in. Then add what applies to you: • Pension contribution — net pay, relief at source or salary sacrifice • Student loan Plan 1, 2, 4 or 5, plus a postgraduate loan on top • Your tax code: 1257L, S1257L, K497, BR, D0, 0T, NT or an emergency W1/M1 code • A bonus and the month it is paid • Children if you claim Child Benefit, and childcare support • Over State Pension age, Marriage Allowance, Blind Person's Allowance PAYSLIP MODE — THE NUMBER YOUR PAYROLL PRINTS Most salary calculators divide the year by twelve. Payroll doesn't. Switch to Payslip mode and the app follows the real payroll tables: monthly free pay, taxable pay rounded down to the pound, National Insurance worked each period, cumulative PAYE that spreads a bonus month across the year. See all twelve payslips as bars and tap any month for the exact figures. WHY YOUR NEXT £1 COSTS WHAT IT COSTS Two gauges show your effective rate (how much of the salary goes) and your marginal rate (what the next pound costs). Plain-English cards explain your position: the 40% line, the £100,000–£125,140 trap where the tax-free allowance disappears, the £60,000–£80,000 Child Benefit clawback, the Scottish 50% zone, the childcare cliff — and how much pension would lift you out of each one. THE CLIFF MAP A chart of the marginal and effective rate from £0 to £250,000 with your salary pinned on it. Drag to read any point, toggle student loan, children, Scotland and pension layers and watch the cliffs move. Then see your place among UK taxpayers and your salary against the full-time median in your region. FOUR TOOLS, ONE ENGINE • Salary I need — "I want £3,000 a month in my account": the gross salary that gets you there • Pay rise & compare — two salaries side by side and how much of a rise you actually keep • Hourly to annual — rate, hours and weeks to yearly pay and take-home, with minimum-wage presets • Pension optimiser — take-home versus money into your pension pot at every contribution rate, and the exact rate that restores your allowance or your Child Benefit EVERY RATE ON SHOW The Rates tab lists all 89 figures behind the maths for 2026/27 — allowances, bands, thresholds, loan plans, pension limits, minimum wage — each with the source sentence and the date it was checked. Nothing is hidden inside the calculation. WHO IT IS FOR • you are paid through PAYE and want your real monthly figure • you are weighing a pay rise, a bonus or a new job offer • you want to know what a pension contribution actually costs you • you are near £100,000, £60,000 or a student loan threshold • you work in Scotland and want the right bands PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Works fully offline. No account, no sign-up, no ads in the calculator • Nothing you type leaves your phone • For employees paid through PAYE in the 2026/27 tax year (6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027) ABOUT THIS APP This is an independent calculator, not affiliated with or endorsed by any employer, payroll provider or government body. Figures are estimates for guidance, not financial or tax advice. Your payslip may differ if your tax code, pension scheme or loan plan differs from what you enter. Rates can change — check the current position before acting on a number.

What's new

Redesigned cards: figures, rates and explanations are easier to read and longer text is no longer cut off. Faster switching between tools and small fixes in the payslip view.
