Hangmates

Hangmates is hangman built for playing together. Start a room, send your friends the link, and take turns guessing letters. Everyone sees the same board, every guess shows up in the color of whoever made it, and solving the answer is worth more the less of it has been revealed. PLAY WITH FRIENDS Two to six players. A room is private until you open it, so nobody wanders in while you are still setting up. Share a link or read the four-letter code out loud — either gets people straight into your game. Arrive mid-round and you are dealt in at the next one. THE DAILY HANG One word a day, the same for everyone. Six tries, a board of everyone who solved it, and a result you can share without giving the answer away. PLAY ON YOUR OWN No connection needed. Solo keeps a stash of answers on your phone, so it works on a plane, on the train, or anywhere the signal gives up. It remembers what you have already had, whether you played it alone or with other people, so answers do not repeat. NEVER MISS YOUR TURN Optional notifications tell you when a friend joins your room, when your game starts, and when you are missing turns, plus a reminder on days you have not played The Daily Hang. Turn them on or off in Settings. THOUSANDS OF ANSWERS Twelve categories — animals, food, history, sports, science, geography, literature, music, technology, entertainment, idioms and current events — across three difficulties, with new answers added every night. Or make your own: name a category and Hangmates writes the answers for it. SET UP THE GAME YOUR WAY Choose how many players, how many rounds, which category, how hard it is, and how long a turn lasts. Pick a theme for the board — Classic, Balloon or Spaceship. NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR No accounts, no email address, no password. Open it and play. To keep your name and history on a new phone, you can link your Google account — but you never have to.
