Swelv

Every era reshapes why we read. Today, reading is how you stay human. What was once solitary and elite is now a movement. From BookTok to reading challenges, people are rediscovering books—together. Reading isn't nerdy anymore. It's essential, how you escape the scroll and reconnect with what matters. But 60% of people want to read more and struggle to follow through. The problem? Reading is still too isolated for a world wired for connection. You need two things to build a reading habit: the right story and the right motivation. Swelv brings both through the power of community. DISCOVER THE RIGHT STORY Trusted recommendations – Stop scrolling through reviews from strangers. Get book suggestions from friends who actually know your taste. Curated playlists – Browse playlists like "Cinematic Sci-Fi" or "Binge-Worthy Novels" to find your next obsession, easier than browsing Netflix. End decision paralysis – No more staring at endless options. Your next great read is already waiting. A SELECTION THAT FEELS LIKE YOU, ONCE A MONTH The more you share what you feel, the better swelv understands you. Once a month, we offer you a book selection shaped by your tastes, your emotions, how you've grown as a reader, and the books that move the people in your circle. The result: recommendations that are more personal, more nuanced, more true. STAY MOTIVATED TOGETHER Share your journey – Capture quotes, emotions, and milestones that turn reading into real conversations. Social accountability – When your friends read, you're motivated to keep going. Reading alone is easy to abandon. Reading together sticks. SHARE HOW IT FEELS Rate with emotions, not stars – Did this book make you feel inspired? Keep you up all night? Change how you see the world? Share the actual feeling, not just a number out of 5 Tell your friends what they're in for – Warn them it's a slow burn. Tell them to prepare tissues. Let them know it's the perfect beach read. Give the context reviews can't capture Turn reading into real conversations – Your "just finished" posts spark discussions that matter. No algorithm-friendly captions needed, just honest reactions to stories THE STRAVA FOR READING, WITHOUT THE COMPETITION We bring the motivation of fitness apps and the discovery of trusted friends to reading. No productivity hacks. No 15-minute summaries that strip away the depth. Just real books, real friends, and a habit that finally lasts. Reading is emotional, personal, and transformative when you find the right story at the right time. Swelv makes both happen. Start Swelving. Find your story. Share how it feels. Read with friends.
