Full description
Swegon Config Tool is a native Android service app for commissioning, troubleshooting, and configuring supported Swegon devices over Modbus RTU. With a supported USB-OTG connection and USB-to-RS485 adapter, the app lets an Android phone or tablet communicate directly with equipment on the bus for live read, device identification, and selected configuration tasks. When a supported adapter is connected, the app automatically detects it, requests Android USB permission, and starts a short bus analysis before communication begins. This is designed to choose the safest connection mode for the current installation. Depending on the detected traffic, the app can work in Master Direct, Master Polite, or URC1-compatible mode so technicians can connect to both quiet and already active Modbus lines with less risk of disturbing normal operation. The app includes two main workflows: 1. Modbus Product Config A profile-driven workflow for supported products. The app can scan for devices, help confirm the correct Modbus address, and open a live view of available values for the selected product. Depending on the product profile, the app can show status values, settings, actions, and Modbus-related values, and for supported parameters it can also save changes directly from the live view. 2. Modbus Master A generic advanced service workflow for raw Modbus operations. This includes repeating reads, configurable slave-id scans, and controlled raw writes for troubleshooting and validation when a product-specific workflow is not the right fit. The app also includes adjustable communication settings such as baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and analysis duration. Communication happens locally between the Android device and the connected hardware. This test release is intended to validate the app before a wider rollout. Testing requires supported USB/RS485 hardware and an Android phone or tablet with USB host / OTG support. Common supported adapter families include FTDI, CP210x, PL2303, and CH340/CH341. If you find an issue, please report the phone model, Android version, connected controller/device, steps to reproduce, and photos/screenshots if relevant. Send feedback to: [email protected]
